The Butterfly Alphabet is a photographic work done by the Norwegian born photographer Kjell B. Sandved. Sandved worked at National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. and in 1960, by chance he came upon an old dusty box on a shelf and inside was a butterfly with the perfect letter F on its wing. This inspired the idea of finding all the letters of the alphabet in the patterns on the wings of butterflies.

Thank you Stacy for this unique wall. I had a calender with butterflies with different numbers om them but not the alphabet. This is wonderful and certainly a great addition to my treasure file of special walls from special people. Fav + 1000000 d. Many thanks again for your friendship and wonderful gift.
