I was a little girl back in those days , no central heat or air , summers were hotter than ..you know where and winters were long and bitter cold .
Had to warm the bed clothes by a wood heating stove before we went to bed to keep from freezing . It would be so cold at night that water would freeze in the water bucket in the kitchen .
My dad started to walk to work one morning , he turned around and came back home because he saw rabbits froze to death . It was thirty below .
Lordy ..looks like a bitter cold night in this scene .
