Wallpaper Description:
Today is 12/12/12. I thought it would be neat to upload a few wallpapers with that date on it. I had 5 fancy birthday wallpapers almost ready to go. I opened my graphic arts program and tried to get one of them.

The computer gave me a message: "Not located." I tried different ways of bringing it up and got the same message. I called my husband, John for help. As he tried all manner of ways to locate my files with no success, I realized that something was terribly wrong.

It turned out that one of the 2 hard drives in my computer had failed. The hard drive that failed contained ALL of my wallpaper project files, my 400 Persona design Files, all of my word processing documents, wallpaper downloads, photographs and many other things.

My husband and son who do the maintenance work on my computer had been talking about getting a back up system figured out and installed, but they had not gotten around to it. It looked like I had lost everything. I was stunned. I laid down and eventually drifted off into a troubled sleep.

My son got home about midnight. He worked on my hard drive until 4:30 AM, but was unable to get anywhere with it. He ended up putting it in our freezer. He may be able to salvage a few of my files, but I can't count on it.

He got to bed exhausted, at almost 5 in the morning. I woke up at 5:30, and couldn't sleep. I got dressed, left a note for my husband and took off in my car. I never do anything like this, but I felt like I had to get away from everything for awhile.

Eventually, I ended up at a 24 hour Meijers Store. It was 7AM by the time I called John. I told him I would browse for awhile and then come home. I would try to get there before he left for work.

I was looking at Christmas cookie cutters when my cell phone rang. John was about to leave the house. I asked him to leave his computer on for me so that I could at least go on DN or something.

"You can use your own computer," he said. You have the small hard drive left, and you still have gmail and stuff. I've created a folder for you so that you can even use SUMO Paint and make wallpaper."

I was amazed. I had thought that my computer was so messed up that I wouldn't be able to make wallpaper for a week or more. Then he went on to remind me that he had some of my lost photos stored on his computer.

"Do you have my Bronners Christmas photos?" I asked. Yes, he did! I could go on using Bronner's Frankenmuth Christmas photos for my wallpapers this month after all! He said that he would load those photos on my remaining hard drive for me.

I almost cried into the cookie cutters. I felt like Jesus had just wrapped His loving arms around me. I had not lost everything after all!

I still have the wallpapers that I uploaded. It is such a comfort to me that they are safe on Desktop Nexus. I can download all of them. I've lost some photos, but I have many that mean a lot to me safe on John's computer. I have a graphic arts program. I have my mind, my hands, and my eyes. I have people who loved me enough to go all out in an attempt to save my files.

When I got home from Meijers an hour later, I turned on my computer and started creating a wallpaper from scratch.

This homemades wallpaper has in it, my lost art files, disappearing from my hard drive in wild stormy bursts of color. It has the words "God is so Good." He IS good. He really cares for and loves me! The dove in the wallpaper represents the peace that I am experiencing in the midst of this storm. It is peace beyond my understanding.

Every once in a while today, I've felt a pang of pain go through me when I've happened to think of a beautiful layer here and there that I was saving for special wallpapers. They are now lost to me forever. But for the most part, I have been focusing, not on the things I have lost, but on the things that I still have. :D

God is so Good.
