Hi everyone! We're hard at work trying to keep our community clean, so if you see any spam, please report it here and we'll review ASAP! Thanks a million!
Please know that people like me are aching for you, all over the world. I think all of us will remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard the terrible news.
I was getting ready to participate in a Christmas Variety Show at my church. We were giving a Benefit Concert to raise money for a food pantry in our area. At about 6:30 PM on Friday the 14th, we were receiving our final stage instructions. Then a Pastor in the room started talking about what had happened in Connecticut. At least a third of us, including myself were hearing the news for the first time. I felt like I had been punched in the stomach.
Our entire group dropped the Christmas show from our minds. We stopped everything and prayed for you. I have prayed for you several times since then, and I am sure that everybody else is also.
I hope that knowing this took place will help you in some small way.
I performed in my 2nd and last Christmas performance earlier this evening. Then I came straight home and went to work on this wallpaper.
The background is a dark color, because this is a dark and difficult time for you. I put the flowers in for their beauty. They might be us, all over the world, reaching out to you, longing to help somehow. Or maybe they are you, reaching out for support. Maybe they are both.
I put the rainbow in the wall as a symbol of hope. Hope that this will never happen again. Hope that you will find the strength and the love that you need to get through the next few days, weeks, and months. And most of all, hope that you will someday be able to look back at this difficult period of your lives, and find a little song in your hearts once again.
Through this experience you will grow into beautiful, compassionate, strong people who will be able to help others through difficult times. I am so sorry that you have to experience this though. All of us are. The people at my church, the other wallpaper designers on Desktop Nexus...people from all over the world are.
God bless you all, Sandy Hook school survivors from Newtown Connecticut. Our hearts are with you.

Jack, I am happy to say that I am not the only one who has made a wallpaper for the survivors. Check out the first page or so of my favorites file, because I am favoriting and voting up every wallpaper that I find that supports the people in Connecticut. I am so glad that other people are making walls for them also, and giving thoughtful comments.
I hope that you will vote up all of the Sandy Hook wallpapers.
....I commend you with honours Elaine...So very thoughtful and compasionate of you to dedicate a wall to the victims and family of those murdered at..'sandy Hook'.....and what of the people that were there who witnessed this massacre??....Such scars?... Such beautiful words and image Elaine...
Words are so inadequate to explain the emotions felt by this devastating tragedy. I can only endorse everything which you have already said, Elaine. Like sara1970 below, I have been constantly trying to upload a wallpaper which I have made but, up to now, without any success. I will keep trying in the hope of a positive outcome.
