Wollo, you are welcome to delete any comment I make today about how romanticized the pics may be. Thanx for asking. If more artists did ask Native americans questions, the art would be more correct. This picture isnt offensive it is just incorrect. A War Chief only wears the full bonnet at certain ceremonial times. European/Americans probably glam onto it as an icon because they were so often at war with the native people here.

This group is sitting about the tipi in a casual manner with the genders scattered around. We would probably not find a fully bonneted chief outside of a war council. Also the lady in the blue shell dress is from over a thousand miles away from this Lakota group.
