Happy Mother's Day, Mom! :D

Dear Mom,

When Mother's Day came near each year, I used to go with Dad (and the other kids) on a Mother's Day shopping trip. We usually went to a place with shrubs and flowers that you could plant in your garden. I remember one year I got you a Pinocchio rosebush. I chose it because of the neat name. Although there wasn't much in the way of flowers on it yet, the colored label with the photograph gleamed with promise.

Dad trained me well, I guess. For years now, it has been my pleasure to get you a hanging plant that you can enjoy all summer. I always try to pick a pot with as many colors of flowers in it as I can. The more colors, the merrier!

It probably won't surprise you to know that John has a hand in picking it out. He reminds me of practical things such as whether it will need sunlight or shade, and how often you will have to water it. It's a good thing too. I have more of a purple thumb than a green one.

This year, John and I never had a chance to go plant shopping. He finally got his new hip via surgery on May 2nd. That's kept us pretty busy. He's getting along well, but won't be able to come over, as he still must be very careful how much he moves around.

I'll be coming, but I won't have a plant for you. Instead, I designed this wallpaper. I used as many or more colors, as the hanging plants that I usually get for you. And you won't need to worry about watering it, or about frost warnings or anything like that.

I tried to make it as special as you are, Mom. I appreciate you so much. I couldn't have asked for a better Mom than you are.
