Brains Benton is a fictional character who was created for the 6 volume juvenile detective series (for kids 12-14) The Brains Benton Mysteries. Written between 1959 and 1961 these stories tell of the adventures of two junior high school kids. Brains and Jimmy Carson operated the Benton and Carson International Detective Agency out of the second floor of the Benton garage.
The Crime Lab as they called it was divided into several rooms. The InnerSanctum was the one where Brains did most of his thinking. There is a one-way mirror over the opening where a door goes so that Brains could see out into the main room of the lab but anyone looking at the mirror would only see their reflection.
