Comments for "Gun control - registration is the first step"

JakeThe Right to bear arms was ratified in December 1791 when owning a gun was a neccessity.Nowadays it isn't.The imbecile who caused so many deaths and injuries bought his firearms in an area where registration was not required. If it was, do you not think that the authorities would become suspicious about the number of firearms he was accumulating, and send a representitive to find out why, and to stop him buying any more? They would also notify the police, who would keep an eye on his activities.I am glad I do not live in a country where anyone could buy a gun and kill people indiscriminately.Kim

You are right CiTiBoY, every time something happens the anti-gun zealots come out of the woodwork and start their harangue. If you think that only registration is on the table you are in la la land, this is only the first step for the government to confiscate our weapons. Don't fall for it. Having a firearm is not what caused these shootings, it is the troubled individuals that do the dirty deeds. Someone dedicated can find multiple ways to kill and maim people, look what a big truck driven by a madman has caused here recently.

Hmmmmmmmmm....... so let me think. If this shooter had registered his rifle then it wouldn't have fired?? By the way, federal law requires registration... Trying to punish the innocent for this?

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU KIM..HERE IN AUS WE DON'T SEEM TO HAVE THE PROBLEMS WITH GUNS AS THE US DOES. ALL GUNS HERE HAVE TO BE REGISTED AND SEMI AUTOMATICS ARE NOT ALLOWED...SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO STOP THIS CARNAGE...
