THE LADY OF THE STORM


A bolt of lightning awakens me
A call from above and she is there
The grey rainy sky and the northern wind give her away
Long and wet she comes back as always damp and dreary
Like a night that won't let go, the lady of the storm calls

From her isolated hiding spot she originates her fury on my face
and leaves her cold shame on my soul while I cry out all alone
On her lips she kisses me with no thought or love
Sea nymphs choose her breasts as their home
In her heart there is no mercy
The force of her tears sting down my neck and back
Like pearls of old from the lady of the storm

The sea foam cries, knocking on my mind
Sets me upon my knees and
Carries me places that I do not want to go
I can not shake her as I turn to hear her taunt me
She smiles all the while her seaweeds pull me closer and closer
My demise is near and all I can see is the lady of the storm

Very beautiful! I love how the poem personifies the woman's cold heart, which she has shut out love, as the awesome, angry power of a stormy sea. wonderful! :D
