I just read a report the other day how you never see fireflies anymore and they think it's caused by different type's of light pollution at night. Garden lights,or path lights,house lights. They say they need complete darkness in order to receive signals that have meaning from other fireflies . They use these also for mating rituals. So they figure with the lights on everyware now there dying off because of this. SAD

There are still BLACK dark places. They are not near cities. Fireflies or Lightening Bugs (actually beetles) still flourish. Though you bring up another reason why light pollution is infecting nature and needs to be reduced!
