When John Lennon died - artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswrd reacted forcefully against the growing violence in the world and drew in anger a revolver with a knotted barrel.
He refined his ideas in many different techniques until he finally caste 3 of the images in bronze.
The first copy was bought by the Luxembourg government and donated to the UN in New York, where it has become one of the world's most photographed sculptures.
The second copy purchased, was donated to the Malm (Scania, Sweden) and placed at the Exchange Building - the gateway to Malmo via boats, shuttle buses and trains.
The third copy is centrally located in Luxembourg.
This message of "non violence" has become the symbol of a worldwide movement and the sculpture is available today in various sizes and can be seen in many places; among others - at the Olympic Committee headquarters in Switzerland.
